The Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Southwest Michigan, Church of God in Christ, Inc. presents AIM Convention 2013, Thursday, June 13th through Saturday, June 15h at Victorious Believers Ministries COGIC, 624 South Outer Drive, Saginaw, Michigan, 48601, where Pastor Christopher V. Pryor, AIM Chairman, is the host pastor. Theme: ”Growth and Expansion”.
AIM 2013 will feature:
- Thursday, June 13: ”Predestined Royalty” Young Women of Excellence & Young Men of Valor Competition at 6:30 p.m. as well as A Night of Worship & The Arts at 8:00 p.m.
- Friday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m.: Pastor Welton Smith IV, New Life Family Church of Detroit, MI, will be our guest speaker. Missions, Evangelism & Sunday School Highlights.
- Saturday, June 15: Music Workshop will be held at 11:00 a.m. as well as a Musical at 5:00 p.m. featuring SW3 Choir and other guests.

Please continue to lift up the family of Mother Mildred Black in your prayers during their time of bereavement. Mother Black’s home going service will take place at Lansing COGIC, 5304 Wise Rd., Lansing, MI on Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. All departments have been asked to be in their respective places.
STEP TEAM REHEARSALS have been canceled for May 7 & 9 and will resume on May 13 at 6:30 p.m.
The “You Don’t Know My Story” production is calling all MEN! The Lansing COGIC Women’s Department would like to include testimonies from men in our production. We know that men have a story to tell as well as women and we want to have a balanced production. If you are interested, please submit your testimony by May 31, 2013. Please pick-up and fill out the form titled “You Don’t Know My Story” from the church news table and place it in the sealed box. Please contact Sis. Askew, Sis. Angell, Sis. Garner, Sis. The Intercessory Prayer Team will be conducting a “Drive-Through” Prayer at Lansing COGIC on May 25, 2013 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. Please help spread the word to others and those in the community letting them know that they can drive-up to Lansing COGIC and someone will come out to their car and pray for them. Everyone is welcome to be a part of the prayer team. We also need assistance in circulating flyers to publicize this event. Please see Evangelist Joyce Jackson or Sis. Greetings friends and family: Bishop Samuel Duncan, Jr., and the Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Southwest Michigan are excited to announce their 1st Annual Golf Outing. This first annual golf outing will be held on June 8, 2013 at the Forest Akers West Golf Course on the campus of MSU with registration at 8:30 a.m. The $65 registration fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart and lunch. A portion of the funds will go towards educational scholarships for graduating high school seniors. This event promises to be a good time. Program Overview
The Jackson Programmer Trainee program is designed to provide training and a career opportunity to qualified individuals with little or no previous computer knowledge/experience and to prepare them for a career in Jackson’s Information Technology (IT) Department. Associates in these areas develop and maintain application systems using leading-edge technology to give Jackson a competitive advantage in the industry.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with little or no prior experience with software development and have an interest in entering the IT industry. This year Jackson will be offering a Java Trainee classes. This training program is designed to teach technically oriented candidates Enterprise JAVA programming skills, including utilities and other related tools and languages used throughout the industry. Additional topics include database management systems, Hyper Text Markup Language(HTML), and Perl. The 16 week course is taught with a focus on real-world examples and a large percentage of the coursework consists of lab assignments and actual service requests from IT’s users.
Recent graduates have continued to master the systems their teams work on and many have received additional training in C/C++, Advanced SQL, Visual Basic, and other languages. This is a full-time, paid training program that starts in July. Upon successful completion of the training program, the Programmer Trainee will be promoted to OJT (On the Job Trainee) and given a salary increase.
