The Daniel’s fast (no meats or sweets) will commence at midnight Jan. 22 thru midnight on Jan. 26.
 
The total abstinence fast will commence Jan. 27 thru Jan. 29.  If you are under a doctor’s care or are taking medications, please observe the fast in another way.
 
The Ironmen’s department will be sponsing a MEN ONLY shut-in on Friday, February 10, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. This shut-in will feature the movie Courageous and break out sessions will take place dealing with the roles of a man and the warfare that men deal with!  This is open to ALL MEN!!!  For more information please contact Minister Sheldon Thomas @ (517) 803-5792 or shel_nice@yahoo.com.
 
The annual Ironmen’s retreat shall be Thursday, May 31, 2012 thru Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Gull Lake Ministries. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due by Sunday, February 12. The Ironmen’s department will be sponsoring a bus trip to see the Detroit Pistons vs the Miami Heat on Friday, March 23. This fellowship is open to everyone and the total cost is $75 per person. The bus will be departing from the church @ 6:00 p.m., returning at 12:00 a.m. Monies can be turned in to Deacon Hollins. Sorority, Inc. Delta Sigma Theta is an international public service organization founded at Howard

University in 1913. The Lansing Alumnae Chapter is one of more than 900 chapters in the sorority

throughout the world.

ELIGIBILITY

2.5 GPA (cumulative) or better on a 4.0 scale

Be a citizen of the United States

Must graduate from a high school in the Greater Lansing area

Be a minority student

REQUIRED MATERIAL

 

Completed and signed application (include photo)

Official high school transcript

Letter of acceptance to a college or other educational institution

 

A typed brief essay of why do you think you would be a worthy recipient of this scholarship

 

Two one-page letters of recommendation from individuals other than family members who are

familiar with your accomplishments.

If any item or portion of the application is omitted, the entire application will be disqualified.

1/13/12 update

Elder Samuel “Cisco” Duncan, IV will be meeting with all Elders, Ministers, Missionaries, Aspiring Missionaries, Deacons, and Deacons in Training Sunday, January 15th at 5:00 p.m.

JANUARY 15 - There will be a special service celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 6:00 p.m. at Lansing COGIC.  This service will be done in conjunction with several other Lansing area churches, and all departments are being asked to be on their post.  Our regular Sunday Night “Hour of Power” service will reconvene to its regular time next Sunday.

1/6/12 update

SECTION 8 HOUSING 

An opportunity for anyone who may be eligible for a Section 8 Housing voucher is available for a 2-week period from Jan. 5th through January 13 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Interested individuals must register on line to have a chance at obtaining a voucher.  Please register at www.lanshc.org. There are no paper applications available.  The website also has a listing of Community Partner sites assisting applicants in the following areas: 

  1. Applicants who need internet access ONLY
  2. Applicants who need internet access and application assistance
  3. Applicants with disabilities and those who need interpretation or computer assistance

Sometime after close of the voucher registration, 1000 vouchers will be drawn by the Housing Commission.  Those selected will then be interviewed to establish eligibility.  The 1000 individuals who are selected and determined eligible will be placed on a waitlist for the vouchers.

JANUARY 13 – Everyone is invited to attend a shut-in sponsored by Evangelist Loggins and Operation 500 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on January 14.

Adult Rhema rehearsals will take place at LCOGIC on Thursday’s at 7:30 p.m.  For more information please contact Sis. Passionique Presberry.

1-3-12 update

All regularly scheduled LCOGIC services and prayer times reconvene on Wednesday, January 4th.

JANUARY 7 – SW3 ANNUAL CONSECRATION AND VISION SERVICE – shall convene at 12:00 noon at HQ.  The SW3 Mass Choir, Ushers and other officers should be on duty.  Bishop Duncan will meet with all CREDENTIAL HOLDERS at 10 a.m.  Mother Peppers will meet with ALL WOMEN at 10 a.m.  Men credential holders in class B attire, and women credential holders in their white dresses with the overlays.

JANUARY 28 – JAM FOR JESUS sponsored by the SW3 Youth Department shall take place at 2:00 p.m. at Victorious Believers Ministries.

REMINDER:  Wednesday night bible study has been canceled for Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 and will reconvene on Jan. 4.

DECEMBER 25 – Our morning worship service will convene at 9:00 a.m.  The evening worship service has been canceled.

DECEMBER 29 – There will be a blood drive at LCOGIC from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  There is still time to sign-up by calling Deacon Saunders at (313) 506-5358 or the church at (517) 882-2335.

DECEMBER 31 – LCOGIC’s watch night service will begin at 10:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight. Immediately following the watch night service our Sunday, January 1st. morning worship service will convene.  Communion will be taken during this service.  Also, you may sow your “First Fruits” offering during this service!

JANUARY 1 – THE SUNDAY SCHOOL, 10:30 A.M. AND 5:00 P.M. SERVICES AT LCOGIC HAVE BEEN CANCELED!
